This is a guide for educators to teach content and skills using the ancient Indigenous game of lacrosse to stimulate inquiry about a variety of political, cultural, spiritual and athletic issues.
The purpose of this curriculum is to offer lacrosse enthusiasts and interested History, Native American/Indigenous Studies, and Political Science students a broader understanding of the cultural significance of lacrosse to the Indigenous peoples that invented the game, and to provide an awareness of the political issues faced by Native Nations establishing their sovereignty with 21st century governments.
